Lake City Rangamati Travel Guide

Rangamati is an excellent travel place for boat journey. Its diverse natural beauty, green hilly surrounded lake, tribal food and culture that always attract tourists.

It has gradually become an important Eco-tourism destination because of its diverse tribal population and rich tribal homespun textiles. Boat on the Kaptai Lake, picnic near the Shuvolong waterfall, visit the Rajban Bihar Pagoda, cross the 335-ft-long hanging bridge and take a drive though Kaptai National Park home to deer, elephants and many species of bird.

Transportation and Accommodation: There are lots of bus services are available from Dhaka to Rangamati. Shamoli, Saudia, Unique, S-Alam etc. AC and non-AC direct bus services are leaving from Dhaka. Distance of Rangamati from Dhaka 322 km, ticket price 450 taka and takes around 8.5 hours.  So many hotel, motel and resorts are available at Rangamati anywhere you can stay.

Visiting Places at Rangamati: If you take the bus at night from Dhaka then you will reach Rangamati at morning. Then take a hotel and after some rest you can go out. The first day you can visit tourist places around town, second day can reserve for boat journey.

Kaptai Lake, Rangamati
Firstly you can go to Indigenous Museum. From here you will gather knowledge about cultural and historical tradition of tribal peoples. The museum is opened for visitors from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm on Mon-Friday; closed on Saturday, Sunday and Govt holiday. Entry fee 5 taka for adult and 2 taka for children.

After that you can visit Rajban Bihar which is a pilgrimage of Buddhist. From here you can go Chakma King Palace by boat which is located on beside Rajban Bihar on a small island in the Kaptai Lake. Then you may go to Parjatan Complex, there is a Hanging Bridge and a eco-park.

The second day you can spend to enjoy the journey by boat at Kaptai Lake. You'll get a different type of boat at Reserve Bazar Ghat of town. Rent a boat for the day, in the morning, go straight to Suvalang. Spend some time at Suvalang waterfalls start your return. On the way, you can eat lunch at Tuk Tuk or Peda Ting Ting restaurant on a small island. You'll get tribal food menu in here. Again, start your boat journey on blue lake and see the beauty of the mountains touch sky.
