Tea City Srimangal

Srimangal is an Upazila of Moulvibazar District, located northern-eastern side of Bangladesh and beside the Dhaka Sylhet highway. It is known as the tea capital of Bangladesh.

You can go Srimangal by bus or train. Different service buses leave from Sydabad, Dhaka to Sylhet at early morning to noon; you can drop at Srimangal by these buses. Distance of Srimangal around 235 km, ticket price 550-775 BDT, takes 4 hours to reach. From Srimangal bus stand you have to go Choummohani which is the central Srimangal town. You'll find here several hotels where can stay.

Sightseeing: After some resting, at afternoon you can visit Tea garden, Zoo of the Sitesh Babu, Tea Factory, Tea Research Institute, Rubber forest, War Cemetery Manipuri Para, Bharaura Lake, Harinchara Lake etc. around town. Don't forget to take 7 layer tea of Ramesh at Ramnagar Manipuri Para. To visiting other spot at distance area of Srimangal, you have to need at least one day for every spot.

Lawachara National Park: It's located at 10 km south from Srimangal, on the way of Kamalganj. There are around 460 different species of animal live in the rainforest.  You can take bus or auto rickshaws from Banugachh-Kamalganj road to go there. Fare on the bus only 6 BDT (2013) and cost 150 BDT for reserving CNG.

Madhabpur Lake: This natural lake is located in Madhabpur tea state of Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar district and 5 km west of Kamalganj Upazila. You can go there by bus or CNG from Srimangal. At winter season guest birds come here from different cold country.

Madhabkunda Waterfalls:

This fall is located at Baralekha Thana of Moulavibazar District. From Srimangal you have to go Baralekha; you can go by bus. Thereafter, that by CNG you can reach at Madhabkunda. If you want to go by train, then dropped at Kulaura station and by CNG you can go at Madhabkunda. There is a motel of the Bangladesh Porjatan Corporation and a Bungalow of the district council; if you want to stay in here then have to booking before come here.

Hammum Waterfalls: This wonderful waterfall is located in the Rajkandi Reserve Forest of Kamalganj in Moulavibazar district. From Srimangal you have to reach Kalabagan Para in Champarai Tea State. You can go by CNG, it will take around 2.30 hours. From Kalabagan Para you have to start tracking. From here you have to take a guide. Since you will enter into the deep forest so bring some food and drinks with your bag.

If you have enough time, then can visit also at Rema Kalenga Forest and Hakaluki Haor.
